Gomez joins Republic FC after a season with Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC, where he started eight matches and earned three clean sheets. Before joining the Hounds, Gomez spent two seasons with Saint Louis FC, recording 42 starts across the Championship and the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. During that time, he was part of STLFC’s run to the Quarterfinals of the 2019 Open Cup, which saw the side defeat Major League Soccer’s Chicago Fire FC and FC Cincinnati.

We're excited to welcome @tomas_gomez_18 to our club for the upcoming season. #UNLEASH #TogetherWeHunthttps://t.co/WAC2VYDQwg

2020 Feb 28 Signed by Pittsburgh Riverhounds
The 26-year-old Gomez, a native of Montemorelos, Mexico is the most experienced of the three new signings. Gomez joins the team after two years with Saint Louis FC. In 2019, he started 17 games, recording a 1.41 Goals Against average and turning in 5 Clean Sheet performances. Gomez spent time in MLS with the San Jose Earthquakes in 2015, and also played with Bob Lilley’s Rochester Rhinos in 2016 and 2017, winning the USL GK of the Year each year.

2018 Jan 15 – Golden Glove Winner Unbeatable in the Rhinos Net
For the second straight year Tomas Gomez claimed the USL Golden Glove after another spectacular season in goal for the Rochester Rhinos. Gomez managed just a 0.73 goals-against average, with 11 shutouts in the season. The record is impressive given he played twice as many matches in 2017 as in 2016, making 22 last season after stepping in part-way through 2016.

Gomez managed a 71.4 percent save percentage in the season, one of the strongest in the league as he continued to establish himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the USL. Gomez will be moving to Saint Louis FC for the 2018 season, where fans will be hoping for a third consecutive Golden Glove. Here is a look at some of Gomez’s best moments of 2017.

Happy Birthday to @ajpalazzolo98 (his 24th) as he prepares for his @mlsnextpro season with @stlcitysc
A bit of @stlcityacademy news - @mykhi_joyner is joining the U17 squad from SLSG. He's the lad that struck the late winner for the U16 SLSG team when they won the derby game in November. A very bright talent.
New Twitter account for this lad where he's posted a highlight video and it now also includes the goal he scored against Chicago to open the season and was the first goal for the Academy.
A reminder to make sure everything is charged up in case the weather causes outages
